The No. 2 Georgetown College Tigers remain undefeated after visiting the University of Pikeville and beating the Bears 35-10 on Saturday. A balanced attack offensively and defensively kept the Tigers from ever being in real trouble during the game, as they went up 14-0 in the second quarter and never looked back. The Tigers were also able to correct one of their biggest mistakes in penalties, only committing three—well below their usual amount.
Neal Pawsat had another big game for the tigers with 325 yards passing and 3 touchdown passes. His main targets were Chris Gohman and Rob Madon, who both received five passes and one touchdown, the other touchdown thrown to Zach Sowder in the fourth quarter. The tigers went into the second half up 14-3 and dominated offensively and defensively in the next half as well. The Tiger’s running game was also on point. Logan Osborne ran for 58 yards while Randy Doss had the Tiger’s two rushing touchdowns.
The defense held Pikeville to 109 yards rushing and 193 yards passing. Linebackers DJ Lemons and Josh Downing both forced a fumble which we recovered and had five and nine tackles respectively.
Georgetown has next Saturday off before hosting Union College on Nov. 3 during senior day and the last home game of the regular season. Kickoff is at 1:30 pm.
