Now presenting your Homecoming Court

Three couples from each class are nominated for Prince and Princess or King and Queen

The entire Homecoming Court will be presented at Saturday’s football game, and the sopho- more and junior Princes and Princess will be crowned along with the senior King and Queen. The freshmen Prince and Princess will have been crowned at Songfest on Friday.

The effects of the GAC changes to Homecoming nominations have been a bit more evident this week as the 2012 Homecoming Court was announced. Instead of each residence hall nominating a male and a female, the entire student body nominated four couples—one from each class. On Monday, voting opened on the My Georgetown portal, and the form will stay open until Thursday.

The biographies of the members of the senior Homecoming court are included below:

Meredith Johnson. Meredith is from London, Ky. She is the daughter of Don and Debbie Johnson. Meredith is pursuing a major in biology, as well as a double minor in chemistry and Spanish. After Georgetown, she plans to attend graduate school. Meredith is currently involved in Res Life as a Resident Director and is the current sisterhood chair of Phi Mu, a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and a member of Omicron Delta Kappa. She is also the Co- Director of Dance Marathon, is involved in Tiger Tunistas and is a PHA Lil’ Sis. She has previously served on Panhellenic Council as secretary and has served as a Gamma Chi.

Lindsey Kathryn Atkinson. Lindsey is the daughter of Becky and Ralph Atkinson and is from Nashville, Tenn. She is a communication and media studies major and a double minor in psychology and Spanish. Lindsey plans to pursue a career in higher education. She is currently a member of Kappa Delta sorority and of Lambda Pi Eta. She interns in the Office of Academic Enhancement and is a former Panhellenic President.

Abby Shelton. Abby is the daughter of Tom and Gwen Shelton and is from Owensboro, Ky. Abby is a religion major and is minoring in education. After graduation, she plans to marry last year’s Homecoming king, Justin Sizemore, and then take a year off before attending seminary. Abby is currently a member of Phi Mu sorority and served as family and Alumni chair and membership director for the sorority. She has also participated in the Common Ground leadership team, serving as the Co-coordinator of Freshmen Ministries for the past two years. Abby is also a Tiger Tunista and a PHA Lil’ Sis.

Evan Harrell. Evan is the son of Sonya and Steve Harrell and is from Middlesboro, Ky. Evan is pursuing a degree in instrumental music education. After college, he plans to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry and graduate school for a master’s of music in conducting. Evan is a member of the President’s House Association, president of Delta Omicron and is a Phi Mu Phi Guy. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of The Georgetonian, vice president of College Democrats, a member of Tiger Bands and an Alpa Lambda Delta Honor Society member.

Gabe Patten. Gabe is a native of West Chester, Ohio and is the son of Jeff and Jane Patten. Gabe is pursuing a major in business marketing and a minor in communication. Gabe’s plans after college include pursuing a career in marketing and buying a sail boat. Gabe is a senior on the football team and a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

Blake Naylor. Blake is the son of Ron and Melissa Naylor and is from Sardinia, Ohio. He is pursuing a degree in exercise science. After college, Blake plans to travel around the world in a hot air balloon. He is a member of the football team, a three-year letterman and won seven intra- mural championships.
