This Pre-Columbian Peruvian vessel was created during the ninth century CE. The object is classified as art from the Moche culture. The Moche culture dominated the northern coast of Peru between 200 and 600 CE. It is most famous for its development of ceramic models, which allowed mass production of art objects. This particular vessel has an elongated body on one end and two standing owls on the other. The entire vessel is painted with a red and brown slip.
