This Pre-Columbian Mayan figure was produced between the sixth and tenth century CE in Guatemala during the Late classic period. At this point in time, the Mayan culture was most esteemed for its art due to numerous achievements and the importance of the individual. This particular figure is a full standing human with carved almond-shaped eyes, a flattened triangular nose, and thin ridged lips. The figure has both arms raised across its chest. It is attached from behind to a solid carved column.
