Aythaya is a city in Thailand that is known for its production of art objects around the seventeenth century. The bronze Buddha figures that were produced in Aythaya are popular for their stylized yet simplified anatomies. This particular Buddha is placed in a meditation position, with his hands in his lap and his palms upward with all fingers extended. The figure is seated on a triangular plinth base.
