Using narrative, self-based portraits, Gray Lyons’s photographic images focus on the physical body, identity, and personal experiences, expanding the dialogue that surrounds the female persona.

Gray Lyons completed her graduate studies at Towson University in Towson, Maryland. She also holds degrees from Savannah College of Art and Design and Bard College at Simon’s Rock. Her work has been exhibited and published both nationally and internationally.  Lyons predominantly uses traditional darkroom practices along with alternative and antique photographic processes. She lives in South Bend, Indiana, and teaches photography at Indiana University, South Bend.
