Start off your college experience the right way! Join your future classmates for a three-night trip filled with fun and excitement—and learn a few handy tips for successfully transitioning to your first year of college.
Directions is a unique program offered annually by Georgetown to help incoming freshmen adapt to their wonderful new experience in life. This overnight excursion allows you to explore your leadership potential and ability, become acquainted with your classmates and learn more about your future alma mater, all the while developing friendships that will last you a lifetime.
Directions takes place at an adventure-filled, location: Camp Kentahten on the shores of Kentucky’s Green River Lake. You will be engaged in such team-building activities as canoeing, kayaking, boating, hiking and high/low ropes courses, among others. You will be led by Student Life staff, sophomore students and outstanding faculty members.
Camp Kentahten, built in 2001, offers modern amenities, but still lets you enjoy the great outdoors. The four-day Directions program begins and ends at Georgetown College. You will spend two nights at Kentahten and the third night in a residence hall on campus. All food, materials and activities are covered by the registration fee.
So sign up, bring your positive attitude and be prepared for a pre-college experience you’ll never forget.
There are several Directions “re-unions” held in the first year and through out the students’ four years: During Orientation, Fall gathering at staff leader’s home, Christmas Drop-in, Spring Re-cap.
