This checklist will help you finalize preparations for joining us this fall. Many of these processes are explained in detail in the College Catalog.
In addition to the items below it is also very important that you have visited campus and applied for financial assistance. If you have not visited campus, call the Office of Admissions at 1-800-788-9985 and schedule a visit as soon as possible. It is important you meet with an admission counselor to explore your options at GC.
For Fall entry file the FAFSA as soon after January 1 as possible.
Now on to the Checklist….
Congratulations and welcome to Georgetown College!
Please proceed with Step 2.
For Fall entrance, letters of Acceptance for students completing the application process prior to March 15 are mailed by the third week of March. If you applied prior to March 15 and have not received your acceptance letter by April 1, please contact the Admissions Office at 1-800-788-9985.
All students completing applications after March 15 will receive their admission notification in three to four weeks after all items have been received.
Please proceed with Step 3.
The deposit reserves your place in our Fall enrollment. Admitted students will not receive forms and information to reserve on-campus housing or class registration until the deposit is received.
Please note that housing fills up quickly. Also note the Catalog states “Students with no housing application on file or who have not posted the admissions deposit by May 1 become subject to removal from the incoming class if housing is unavailable.”
If you have any questions regarding receipt of your deposit, please contact the Admissions Office.
Have you received your login information (via email) to complete the housing and class preference forms? (These are made available to you after you have been admitted to the college and have submitted your $200 enrollment deposit.)
Beginning in early February, and weekly thereafter, the Office of Student Life sends a Housing Letter and Information to students who have submitted the $200 enrollment deposit. This letter provides students a username and password to use to log in to the GC New Student Homepage where an online housing form can be found.
If you have not submitted the online Housing Form to Student Life, please do so as soon as possible. Housing preferences and roommates assignments are more easily accommodated the earlier your housing form is received.
If you have received your letter but misplaced it or would like to obtain a paper form, please contact Student Life at 502-863-8004 or your admissions counselor.
For questions about the medical forms please contact Lloyd Clark at 502-863-7969
If you have submitted your form online you may proceed with Step 4.
Housing Information and medical forms are mailed by the Student Life Office shortly after your your $200.00 has been received (Beginning early February, see step 2).
If you have sent your deposit already and have not yet received this information contact your admissions counselor or Laura Aispuro at 502-863-7969.
Congratulations! You may proceed with Step 5.
The Class Preference Form will be available on The Portal under the New Student tab for students who have submitted the $200 non-refundable deposit. Students will also receive an email invitation to register for one of the Tiger Orientation 101 dates over the summer. This form will also be available on The Portal.
Email and network ID applications are processed in the order they are received, usually within one week of receipt. Your email address and password are then sent to your campus mail box. To check the status of your application or to find your email account and password in advance, you may contact ITS at 502-863-4357.
You may proceed with Step 6.
Information Technology Services sends email and network account applications to all newly registered students at the end of July each summer. It is important this application be returned as soon as possible, as networked resources, email, and lab computers will not be accessible without a valid account, and many professors require the use of email and networked resources during the first week of classes.
Everything should be in order for your arrival at Georgetown College this fall, and we look forward to seeing you then. In the meantime, continue to look at the information available on the New Student Information web page, or browse the information on the Current Student webpage, to learn more about resources and programs available to you as a Georgetown College student. If you have questions about anything you see, or need information about anything you can’t find an answer for, contact any of the resources mentioned throughout the New Students pages and we’ll be glad to help.
Classes should be selected and financial assistance finalized prior to completing this step.
If you have any questions concerning the status of your financial arrangements with Georgetown College, please contact the Business Office at 502-863-8021.
For questions concerning financial aid awards, please contact Financial Planning at 502-863-8027.
Students who have submitted the $200 enrollment deposit may also check on the status of many of the above items by logging on to the New Student Homepage. Usernames and passwords are sent to students who have submitted deposits with their Housing letter.[/raw]
