The First Tee Scholars program at Georgetown College has been a huge success as both an athletic and academic program. I am impressed with how these young men and women have truly lived up to the meaning of the word ‘Scholar.’ They have thrived in our Christian liberal arts environment here at Georgetown, and their attention to academics is proving that hard work never goes out of style. I am so proud of their success.

Being a First Tee Scholar at Georgetown College was a dream come true for me. I learned so much at Georgetown; in the classroom, of course, but also from all the friends I made there. The entire experience helped me get started on a nice career, but more importantly showed me what was possible to achieve in life. Thank you, Georgetown, and thank you, First Tee!

I really appreciated the opportunity to be a First Tee Scholar at Georgetown College because of the life experiences I encountered and prevailed through. This opportunity opened many doors and avenues, and eventually propelled me to professional success in my field. Without The First Tee Scholar Program and most importantly Georgetown College, I couldn’t tell you where I would be.
Nathan Holliday, First Tee Scholar talks about the program’s success:
Georgetown First Tee Scholars have been blessed through unique internships, networking opportunities, and job placement. As an example, a First Tee Scholar graduate is now working as an assistant golf pro at a course in Dubai! The First Tee Program has enhanced the national recognition and branding of Georgetown College and personally benefited me inside and outside the classroom. The First Tee Program at Georgetown College started in the year of 2005 with two of your very own, Steven Outlaw and Christopher Hawkins. By 2008, the program grew to be the largest presence of First Tee Scholars on any college campus environment in the United States. I feel honored to have met and networked with some of the most successful people in the golf industry.
