How to Participate
Although the requests will be posted and shared on the monthly agenda found on the First Call Web site, confidentiality within the group is important.
All parents, families, and friends of Georgetown are welcome to join. If you are willing to be a part of a First Call group, just gather other parents and friends and meet in a quiet place during the designated time. (Currently, the first Monday of each month, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Room 122, Ensor Learning Resource Center)
A leader could be chosen in order to keep prayer time effective. The leader starts with an opening prayer of praise and adoration and once he/she is confident that all participants have been given the opportunity to pray on a topic, a prayer of thanksgiving is offered. When the group has shared this time, the leader voices a prayer of request and the group lifts up those on the request list and others from the heart.
Prayers do not have to be elaborate; simply reading the requests from the agenda on the Web site is appropriate. The leader then closes.
Suggested Program:
- Opening Prayer
- Inspiration - a brief scripture or devotional on the focus of the month
- Prayer Time - approximately 20-30 minutes
