First Call is a Family Prayer group that has been established for the sole purpose of lifting up our students, faculty and staff in continual prayer.
As families, there is not much we can physically do when our children are away at college. Yet we can share the load and intercede for our students . . . not just our own, but for the entire Georgetown College family.
The greatest thing we as families can do . . . the one thing we must do . . . the one thing we have the privilege of doing . . . is to be prayer warriors!
How does this ministry work?
Once a month, for one hour, families meet together on campus for corporate prayer as intercessors for students and those who directly affect their lives.
If I don't live close enough to attend meetings on campus, can I still be involved?
Absolutely! That's the whole idea. Through prayer, families can cross county and state lines to come together as one. This can be done by setting a time & place to meet with other GC families in your area. You can also pray during our designated time. Just be committed to pray.
How will I know what to pray for?
Each month during the school year, there will be a topic of focus for which we pray, such as peer pressure, healthy lifestyle or perseverance. These, along with other requests and concerns from GC families, will be posted on our First Call Prayer Board. You can also add, review, update or respond to prayer concerns.
What do I need to do to become a part of this ministry?
Having a desire and commitment is all you need.
What about confidentiality?
Prayers and concerns may be left anonymously. Names are not required.
