The spring semester at Georgetown College formally opens with the annual Founders’ Day Convocation. This year’s program is set for Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. in John L. Hill Chapel.

Highlights of the full academic regalia ceremony include induction of three individuals into the school’s Hall of Fame and presentation of the Curry Award for Academic Excellence to a faculty member.

The Hall of Fame inductees are Rita and Frank Penn and Robert L. Doty, Ph.D. All are alumni.

The featured speaker for Founders’ Day is a local historian and journalist Ann Bolton Bevins of Georgetown, KY. A 1956 graduate, she and her late husband, William B. Bevins, were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014. She holds Honorary Doctorates from both Georgetown College and the University of Pikeville.

The Founders’ Day Convocation is open to all members of the college community. It will also be streamed online at https://livestream.com/georgetowncoll/events/8530146.
