English majors have several opportunities to study abroad, either for a short mini-term or for an entire semester or year at Oxford University.
Georgetown College works in partnership with Regent’s Park College, Oxford. This program provides students with up to one year of study in traditional Oxford tutorials. The Director of Oxford Programs is Dr. Bradford Hadaway, whose office is Pawling Hall 307. He may be reached by telephone at (502) 863-8081. Contact him to learn more about applying to the program.
Additionally, the English Department has historically offered mini-term courses that take students to London for two weeks of theatre and cultural studies. No English course is scheduled for 2012-13, but students interested in the possibility of such a program should contact Dr. Barbara Burch at (502) 863-8130.
Many other programs make it possible for students to receive Georgetown College credit for study abroad. For information about these programs, contact Jason Snider, Director of International Programs, at (502) 863-7994.
