For decades, Pawling 110 was Dr. Mary Brady‘s office, den, and salon — a place her students and colleagues frequented for its rich (and often smoky) atmosphere of intellectual stimulation.
Dr. Brady taught and inspired so many people that the English Department and its alumni wish to honor her life, career, and memory, to ensure her legacy, and to carry on her work by establishing a scholarship in her name. The scholarship will support an outstanding rising senior English major who plans to use her or his talents to teach.
For the scholarship to be given in perpetuity, it must be endowed; that means we must raise $25,000.00.
Accordingly, we have developed a continued giving campaign called the Pawling 110 Club. If 110 people donate $20.00 per month for just one year (or $240.00 one time), we will reach our fundraising goal. And if we raise $25,000.00 by May 2013, the first scholarship will be given to a student as early as May 2014.
If Mary touched your life in some way, help us pay her a lasting tribute. Join┬áthe Pawling 110 Club today: to give a private gift online, follow the link and use our secure web server to make your first contribution. On the donation page, select “Other” from the drop-down menu, and in the “Designation/Comments” box, paste in “ENGLISH Dr. Mary Brady Scholarship Fund/Pawling 110 Club.” If you make a one-time gift of $240, that’s all you need to do to “join the club”; if you plan to make monthly $20 contributions for one year, also paste “Recurring Gift Designation” into the comments box. It’s that simple. Your gift will make a difference in the lives of many Georgetown College students to come, offering them a chance to share in the Brady Experience
If you want to contribute by mail or phone, go to the “Support English” page for more information. Finally, if you have questions or feedback, contact Dr. Holly Barbaccia or Gina Putthoff (class of 2005) at the Mary Brady Project.
Thank you for your contribution.
