ENG 535: Shakespeare and the Common Core

How to use Shakespeare to address the Common Core Standards?┬áThat is the question ÔÇŽ In this Summer II online Graduate Education course, we engage in a close reading of six Shakespeare plays, and we build on that foundation to explore techniques for teaching Shakespeare in high school.┬á Through forum discussion and writing assignments, students in this class study Shakespeare intensively; they also design assignments that explicitly address the new core standards for reading literature.*┬á At the end of this course they will have new strategies and activities to use in their own classrooms.
