Awards and Information:

Dr. Carter joined the faculty in 1990. He is a widely published writer of short fiction, having placed his work in literary magazines like Antioch Review, Tin House, Northwest Review, and Mississippi Review. His first novel, I Was Howard Hughes, was published by Bloomsbury Press in September 2003. His second novel, Famous Writers School, was published by Counterpoint Press in October 2006. He edits the nationally distributed Georgetown Review (in continuous publication since 1993) and is at work on a third novel.
