MAIC Traditional Route Program

Candidates earn a master’s degree in education and initial teaching certificate. This program is open to any candidate with a bachelor’s degree in a certifiable content major (i.e. English, biology, history, etc.).

MAIC Alternative Route Program

Candidates earn a master’s degree in education and initial teaching certificate while simultaneously teaching in a school under a temporary provisional certificate. This program is often available to candidates who wish to teach in high-need areas (i.e. special education, mathematics, etc.).

  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 required (or 3.0 for the last 30 hours)
  • Submit official transcripts for all earned degrees via:
