In the event of inclement weather, Commencement will be held in Davis-Reid Alumni Gymnasium (#11), and line-up in George H. W. Bush Center for Fitness (#15). We ask that you please not visit the graduates once they have entered the fitness center.
Each graduate will receive four complimentary tickets for admission to the gym for family and/or friends. Seats are limited due to fire code guidelines. It is important that you arrive on time.
You will not be admitted without a ticket. Tickets will be distributed to the graduates at Commencement practice, Friday, May 8. Extra tickets, if available after initial distribution, will be distributed via a lottery (also held at commencement practice). Any remaining tickets will be limited to two (2) per graduating senior and will be distributed 20 minutes after Baccalaureate in George H.W. Bush Fitness Center. THE GRADUATING SENIOR MUST BE IN THE FITNESS CENTER FOR TICKET DISTRIBUTION TO RECEIVE EXTRA TICKETS. Anyone with a valid G-Card may pick up extra tickets, if available after the lottery, at Campus Safety after 8:00 am on the morning of Commencement.
Additional Seating (no ticket required) for viewing Commencement will be available on a first come, first served basis in John L. Hill Chapel (#18), a more formal setting, and Cralle Student Center (#10), an informal setting. A large screen TV and speakers will provide video and audio for the Commencement program.
By 7:30 a.m. Saturday, May 9, a decision regarding the location of the Commencement ceremony will be made by the Provost/Dean of the College. Students and parents may call the Campus Safety Office at (502)863-8111.
We are happy to provide a will call station (located between the gym and the fitness center) in case you need to leave tickets for members of your party.
We highly recommend that you and your graduate pick a place to meet each other after graduation (away from the gym and fitness center because of congestion). Possible locations might include the Grille in Cralle Student Center (#10) or Anna Ashcraft Ensor Learning Resource Center (#12).
