2010 Student Speaker Ciera Mills

The Commencement Ceremony will be held outside on the lawn of Giddings Hall. The number of guests at Commencement is not limited, and those attending may sit anywhere in the seating area other than the reserved designated sections. (Please see Inclement Weather Plan.)  Programs are available at the top of Giddings Circle.

Photos

Photographs of the graduates receiving their diplomas on Saturday, May 11, will be taken by Boden Photography Studio the moment President Crouch hands each student his/her diploma. Parents will be receiving a reservation packet from Ed Boden requiring prepayment postmarked by Thursday, May 2. For $25 (includes shipping) you will receive two 5×7’s and eight wallets mailed to your home address; additional prints may be purchased. Call Boden Photography Studio with questions at 502-542-7592.

Diplomas/Transcripts

Each graduating senior will receive a diploma and a complimentary official transcript as well as a letter from the Registrar.

Disabled Access and Services

Convenient access to the Commencement Exercises is provided for those who are able to walk only short distances, have difficulty climbing stairs, use a wheel chair or are in need of special assistance.

In order to accomodate all our guests, we will imit the number that can be seated in the area designated for those needing special assistance to 4 guests per party.  Additional guests will be seated in the general seating area.

Parking for Disabled Commencement Guests

The George H. W. Bush Center for Fitness (#6) parking lot will be our designated disabled parking area. If disabled parking is needed, please notify the Academic Programs Office at 502-863-8146. Campus Safety will be available to assist guests and make appropriate arrangements for the guests.

Street Closings

On Commencement Day, East College Street and Memorial Drive will be closed. Please access the campus via Jackson, Military, or Mulberry Street.

Questions/Assistance during the Exercises

If you have questions or need assistance at any time during the Baccalaureate and Commencement Exercises, please seek one of our junior marshals, who can be identified by the gold robes and purple sashes they will be wearing.

Restrooms

Public Restrooms are located on the main floor of the Asher Science Center (#15) and in the Cralle Student Center (#4) on the first and second floor. Baby changing facilities are available in the women’s restrooms in the Cralle Student Center.

Commencement DVD

A DVD of the entire commencement exercise will be available for $35 each. Included in this program is an order form you may submit to the Alumni Affairs Office.
