Dr. Jacob Dickerson

Dr. Dickerson began his academic career as a student at Juniata College, a small liberal arts school in Central Pennsylvania and earned his Master’s Degree at the University of Colorado in Boulder. During those years he developed an interest in rhetoric and the critical examination of the media. This led him to join the doctoral program in Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media at North Carolina State University where he also became interested in collective memory due to a personal interest in history. At that time, he began to identify myself as an interdisciplinary scholar looking to bridge the gap between rhetoric and media studies. He has published articles in Rhetoric Review and Public Understanding of Science and teach courses in media history and theory, popular culture, and video production.
