Civic Engagement is broadening students’ horizons across campus! The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) presents the following trainings. Staff

Community Based Experiential Learning (CBEL) 101: This training for staff will be held Friday, January 18, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. We will introduce sample CBEL projects, talk about civic engagement on campus, and brainstorm ways in which this experiential learning tool can enhance student experiences.

Faculty

Service Learning 101: This training for faculty will be held Friday, January 11, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. We will introduce Service Learning as a pedagogical tool, examine syllabus construction, and walk through incorporating community partnerships into your course. This training is meant for faculty interested in learning more about service learning.

Service Learning Seminar: Each seminar session is designed to facilitate the development of a service learning course for use during the 2013-2014 academic year. You will develop a component of your service learning course or syllabus and to share that component with other participants during each seminar session. The seminar is offered on Tuesdays or Fridays during the spring term and in two one-week sessions during the summer.Section 1, Spring 2013
