M.S. Ed. Counseling Psychology, NCC

Robin began her employment as director of the Graves Center for Calling and Career in July of 2006. She most recently served as an assistant director of the University of Kentucky James W. Stuckert Career Center, and previously as an assistant director at Transylvania University Career Development Center, bringing over 7 years of experience to the program. She has a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies, Master of Science in Education, emphasis in Counseling Psychology, and is continuing to pursue a Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation from the University of Kentucky; she holds the National Certified Counselor credential through NBCC.

Robin enjoys volunteering in her community with her husband of 23 years and watching her three teenagers play high school and college soccer. She is a long-time member of Southland Christian Church in Lexington, KY and in her spare time, she likes to read, garden, cook, and bird watch!

Robin truly believes in each individual making the best use of career services in career decision-making, career exploration, networking, and learning the job search process. You will hear her say over and over again, “The better our office staff get to know you, then the better we can help you achieve your career goals!” “My job is to assist students and alumni in choosing careers and making life plans in terms of a calling or vocation and helping them find joy and meaning in the work they choose to do.”

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
Internships and Employer Relations

Holly’s time at Georgetown College goes “way back”. As a 1986 graduate, Holly began a successful sales career in the technology industry.

In 2004, she returned to Georgetown College as a member of the student life staff. If you are seeking assistance on securing an internship, Holly is just the gal for you. She believes that connecting students with opportunities to enhance their academic and career goals is her mission and she encourages students to contact her to assist in making those connections. She feels that internships are an essential part in student’s preparation of career goals.

When not working, Holly enjoys her garden, watching sports, playing golf and cooking. She really does cook! However, she questions Robin’s ability to cook. Now, Robin’s husband, Danny, cooks a mean burger. Any way you slice it, Holly and Robin make a great team in helping students reach their goals.

Jarrod Lopez, Administrative Coordinator

Jarrod_Lopez@georgetowncollege.edu
Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion

Jarrod Lopez is no stranger to the Meetinghouse. Raised in Louisville, Kentucky, he graduated from Georgetown College in May 2006 with a B.A. in Philosophy and Religion. After four years of intensive reading and writing, he embarked on a personal journey to explore his vocational options. His sabbatical spanned an impressive range of occupations (from a mental health associate to an educational assessment evaluator) and even landed him in a graduate program at Yale Divinity School studying philosophical theology. Proposing marriage to a fellow former Georgetonian, however, has been his most rewarding (and challenging) experience to date, and the one that refocused his sights on his alma mater. Jarrod brings a theological mind to the Graves Center and the question of vocation. He hopes to encourage students to ask “Why?” more often and to not settle when trying to discern their personal and communal callings.

During his out-of-office hours, Jarrod spends his time playing bass guitar, reading fiction, watching good television (Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, and The Office in particular), and improving his Nintendo Wii skills.
