William Gillespie, a Professor in the Department of Communication and Media Studies, joined the faculty of Georgetown College in 1993. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky, a Master’s Degree from the University of Louisville, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Kentucky Southern College. Dr. Gillespie teaches media theory, persuasion, public relations, advertising, and nonverbal communication. He takes on communication consulting projects in the region, and is a contributing writer for Business Lexington Magazine. A fan of live blues concerts, and formerly the General Manager of WRVG-FM, the Georgetown College radio station known for its live performances, Dr. Gillespie advises the legendary T.D. Young Blues Band based in Lexington, Kentucky. In addition to serving on his Lexington neighborhood association board, he is a Kenwick Community Center committee member for the Fayette County Department of Parks and Recreation. Dr. Gillespie is married to Lois, a Woodford County KY middle school teacher, and has four grown children, two of which are Georgetown College alumni.
