All of our new students are invited to attend a PAWS Day! Each Planning and Advising Workshop (PAWS) Day is designed to prepare incoming, first-year students to begin classes in the fall and create early connections between students, faculty, and staff. PAWS Days are also open for parents and guests to attend so they can learn how best to support their GC student.
What Is PAWS?
Through the PAWS program, students will:
- Get logistically ready to begin college in the fall by completing their registration, getting a class schedule, completing financial aid information, and receive information for campus and community resources
- Create connections with other first-year and current students by attending sessions throughout the day with the same small group
- Create connections with faculty and staff through personal advising sessions with their faculty advisor and attending learning sessions with Student Life staff members
And parents will:
- Be given tools to help his/her student succeed at Georgetown College, by completing all necessary financial aid information, learning about ways to h elp his/her student from faculty and staff, and receive information for campus and communi ty resources.
