Unlimited Possibilities
The Campaign for Georgetown
Asher Science Center
The Asher Science Center, built in 1967, is the largest classroom building on campus and the center of our pre-med and science curriculum. We have received a $1 million matching grant from the James Graham Brown Foundation to enable a $3 million science and technology renovation centered on the Asher Science complex. For every $2 we raise we receive $1. We’re almost there! Of our $2 million goal, we need only to raise $236,000 by the deadline of December 31, 2008.
This will provide new laboratories, building improvements, and dramatically upgrade our campus wide technology for sharing information and data.
Renovation Needs
General repairs and upgrades to the roof, air handling system, exterior and interior walls, floors and ceilings; laboratory design work.
-
Chemistry storage cabinets and shelving, lab fume hoods/motors, and lab faucets.
-
Specialized equipment for general, field, and molecular biology and for physiology — including microscopes, computers and a centrifuge.
-
Relocating current language lab to a different building and conversion of the vacated space for a physics lab. Equipment upgrades, planetarium upgrade, creation of a virtual computer lab, and general technology upgrades.
