Commerce, Language, and Culture Major

The Commerce, Language, and Culture major is a joint venture of the Business Department and Foreign Language Department. Students in this program develop a solid foundation in business and in language/culture. They then bring the two components together in an integrative component consisting of experiential and team-taught courses. As students pursue this course of study, they will learn how environmental factors affect business decisions and outcomes. In addition, they will understand the interrelationships between culture and business. Students who complete this major will be prepared for entry-level positions in business and for graduate study. Career opportunities that build upon the special features of this major include positions in the U.S. Department of Commerce, in state agencies promoting economic development, in diplomacy, and with importing/exporting firms.
