Dr. Timothy M. Griffith

Education: Dr. Griffith received his B.A. from Carleton College and Ph.D. in plant science from Indiana University in 2002.

Research: Dr Griffith seeks to understand ecological and evolutionary factors that determine the habitat and geographic ranges of plant species.  He is currently working on projects to identify evolutionary constraints that limit the northern North American range of the common annual Cocklebur (Xanthium strumarium) and to assess the role of phenotypic plasticity in determining the ecological breadth and invasiveness of Polygonum species.

Courses taught: Science of Life (BIO100), Biological Principles (BIO111), Organismal Biology (BIO 214), Evolution and Ecology (BIO314), Plant Taxonomy and Spring Flora (BIO316), and Tropical Biology (BIO470).
