I met my sweetheart, Dave Mann, through a mutual friend, Jack Rogers. Thank you Jack! Though Dave passed away from prostate cancer in 2010 not a day goes by without sweet recollections of our days at Georgetown College from 1974-1978. Dave would sit down at the piano and play by ear. I remember a small embroidered picture Dave made me and I thought about the gentleness of my “Big Dave”. We spent many a weekend fishing in Elkhorn Creek, playing cards with friends, playing pool and bowling in the rec room and just talking about life in general for endless hours.
Dave gave me a Lambda Chi Alpha lavaliere, later asked me to marry him and in the summer of 1977 after I graduated we were married. We stayed in Georgetown another year living in Warrendale married housing during one of the coldest, snow filled winters and enjoyed every minute together. Dave graduated in 1978. We moved to Ohio where we had two kids, Joe now 24 and Jenn 28. Our daughter, Jennifer is also a graduate of Georgetown College. We certainly enjoyed visiting the campus while she was there. It brought back only the sweetest memories of how much we enjoyed such a special time in our life together.
