Campus Overview
Who We Are
Georgetown College was chartered in 1829 as a liberal arts college. We are dedicated to academic excellence in a Christian environment.
We are located 12 miles north of Lexington in the heart of the scenic Kentucky Bluegrass.
Our campus is primarily residential and composed of 1,407 undergraduate students and 503 graduate students.
Undergraduates come from 88 Kentucky counties, 23 states and 10 foreign countries, selecting fields of study from 43 majors and 32 minors.
Our Academics
Long known for our academic excellence, the college continues to attract award-winning faculty and students.
Since 1989, the we have had 17 Fulbright Scholars – three in 2007 alone! The average ACT score is the highest since the college began keeping records, and the Georgetown Varsity Academic Team, competing against much larger state universities, won the league championship again in 2007. It’s the second time in as many years and the team’s fifth championship since 2000 (along with two second place finishes and one third place win).
Georgetown College is also noted for its high acceptance rates to medical, law and graduate schools.

over 100 opportunities for involvement on campus,
including student government, drama/theatre troupe, student newspaper
and radio station, four national sororities, four national fraternities,
one local fraternity and 14 intercollegiate athletic teams.
We have two unique groups at Georgetown College:
- The President’s Ambassadors program offers exemplary college juniors and seniors involvement in leadership training through college promotion.
- The Presidential Mentorship Program aims to provide leadership training for selected high school juniors. Both groups work under the personal mentorship of President William H. Crouch.
Our Facilities
The REC center was completed in 2003, offering a state of the art workout room, pool tables, ping-pong, two basketball courts, and tv lounge area.
The Anna Ashcraft Ensor Learning Resource Center (LRC) encompasses more than 55,000 square feet and represents the largest investment Georgetown College has made in a single facility.
Georgetown was one of the first colleges in Kentucky to complete a Technology Infrastructure Project that allowed the campus to be completely wired for Internet access, entertainment and educational cable TV, voice mail and e-mail available in each residence hall room, and voice/video/data access from every classroom.
