Other Things You Should Know
Award Adjustments
Schools are allowed to use "professional judgment" in certain cases to re-evaluate a student's award and/or Expected Family Contribution. Some examples include: loss of a job, decrease in salary, change in family status, unusual medical expenses, etc. A professional judgment form can be downloaded.
Students who qualify and choose to live off-campus may have financial awards (from institutional monies) adjusted. Georgetown College is a residential college and all students with few exceptions are expected to live on campus.
Renewal of Assistance
All aid offered by Georgetown is for four full years (eight semesters). Academic scholarships require a 2.8 cumulative GPA if the scholarship is less than half-tuition, otherwise the requirement is a 3.3. Students must also meet satisfactory academic progress as outlined in the college catalog.
Georgetown Scholarships: A Four-Year Commitment
Your scholarships will be renewed through your eighth semester as long as you continue to meet the GPA requirements for the academic scholarships and continue to participate for the performance scholarships. You must file the FAFSA each year to renew your need-based assistance and if you continue to be eligible for the programs, your assistance will be renewed.
