Apply OnlineWe make applying to Georgetown easy! For best consideration, students should apply before February 1 of their senior year of high school.

You must submit:

  • completed application
  • $30 nonrefundable application fee
  • official ACT or SAT report
  • official high school transcript

Where do you get the application?

 

What else do you need to know?

  • Your transcripts must be official copies sent directly from your school to the Office of Admissions at your request.
     
  • If you did not designate Georgetown College as a score recipient when you registered for your ACT or SAT I, you should submit an Additional Score Request Card, which can be obtained from your high school guidance office or the Office of Admissions.
     
  • Your application will be considered as soon as it is received. The Admissions Committee is composed of faculty and an administrator. They review applications on a weekly basis.
     
  • You will usually receive word of the Admissions Committee's decision within two to three weeks. If you are accepted, you will receive an official letter of admission and should submit your Letter of Acceptance along with a $200 enrollment deposit within 30 days.
     
  • If you have not made a firm decision among colleges at that time, you may defer sending the deposit until as late as May 1.
     
  • For fall applicants, the enrollment deposit is refundable until May 1. Thereafter, it is nonrefundable, but will be credited to the student's account upon enrollment. Spring applicants may obtain a refund of their enrollment deposit until December 15.
     
  • If admitted, you will be mailed information on housing, a medical history form, and an autobiographical statement. These must be completed prior to enrollment.
     
  • Generally, only the number of students who can be accommodated in campus housing will be admitted for a given year. However, you should submit the housing application at your earliest convenience and no later than May 1. Students with no housing application on file or who have not posted the enrollment deposit by May 1 become subject to removal from the incoming class if housing is unavailable.
     
  • With your initial enrollment a $200 enrollment deposit is required. This deposit becomes a housing deposit for subsequent semesters. The deposit will be fully refunded if:
    • the Director of Student Housing is notified by May 1 in writing that you will not be returning for the following fall semester,
    • the Director of Student Housing is notified by December 1 in writing that you will not be returning for the spring semester, or
    • you graduate from the college.

 

Re-admission for former Georgetown College students

  • Complete the Application for Admission
  • Former Georgetown College students are NOT required to submit the $30 application fee or the essay, but are asked to submit a statement declaring the reason for applying for re-admittance and explaining what they've done in the interim.
  • Include all transcripts from colleges attended after leaving Georgetown (if applicable).

 

Post-Baccalaureate, Transient, Special, Other

If you are applying to Georgetown College as a student in one of the following circumstances, then you may complete the Application for Admission or call the Admissions Office at 1-800-788-9985 for a separate, shorter application:

  • You have already received a Bachelor's degree, or you are seeking another Bachelor's degree (Post Baccalaureate).
  • You want to take one class and have the credit transferred to another institution (Transient).
  • You only want to take one class (Special).
  • You want to audit a class (Other).
