About Religion

Our Religion major will help you think critically about the Christian faith as it relates to yourself, your Biblical and theological traditions, and the way in which you relate to others in a faith-based setting. The classes are both academically rigorous and practically relevant, preparing you for ministry and scholarship.

“Facing the hard questions in religion classes made my faith grow. So grateful for professors who walked alongside us on our spiritual journey

 - Rev. Carolyn Hale Cubbedge, '71

"What I've studied in each religion class has added to my view of the world, while also deepening my inner faith. When you take a religion course at GC, expect to emerge changed for the better."

 - Marcus Price II, '19

"As a religion major, the faculty and staff at GC taught me how my faith is not damaged by strong academics, but strengthened by it.”

 - Rev. Justin Sizemore, '13

“As a Religion major at Georgetown, not only was my faith deepened but I was prepared to thoughtfully and faithfully engage in ministry to the world."

 - Rev. Ashley Tackett-Evans, '07

“Throughout my experience, I could always trust that my professors were completely invested in my academic and spiritual formation, which has shone through in my labor as a seminary student and minister.”

 - Adam Standiford, '10
