The Edith Monson Foreign Travel Scholarship
Eligibility
Applicants must have declared a major or minor in a world language taught at Georgetown College (or a Classics or Asian Studies minor or CLC) must enroll at a foreign university or study-abroad program as a full-time student (12 hours for a semester program, 6 hours in the summer - or 3 hours of upper division work). In addition, the applicant must have completed at least one class above the 201 level in the language of study, and have a GPA of 3.0 or better in that language, as well as a minimum of a 2.5 GPA overall.

Application Process
Submit a 3-page, double-spaced essay, in English, to Dr. Jana Brill (AH 11) before the deadline. The essay should state the goals you hope to accomplish while studying abroad, as well as demonstrate a knowledge of the town and country where you intend to study. Attach a transcript with your essay.

Notification of award
Applicants will be notified within a month of the deadline, by the Chair, Dept. of Foreign Languages.
