The Kentucky Institute for International Study (KIIS) Scholarship
A Kenneth E. Harrell Scholarship is awarded to one student in each KIIS study abroad program. For semester programs the award is for $750 and the deadline for application is April 1. Summer program awards are for $500 and the deadline is March 1. Interested students must:
- Be currently enrolled enrolled at an institution that is a full member of the KIIS consortium.
- Be returning as a student to the institution during the academic year following the program (except Bregenz Environmental, Costa Rica, and Spain: a Practicum for Teachers).
- Have completed at least 30 semester hours by the end of the spring semester.
- Have an over-all GPA of 3.0, and a 3.5 in his/her major.
- Demonstrate financial need by providing a copy of the Financial Student Aid Report.
- Submit an application by the deadline which includes the following: typed application form, 200-word essay, one letter of recommendation from a faculty member in the student's major, a copy of the Financial Student Aid Report.
