Assistant Professor of Classics and General Studies
Georgetown College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position for an Assistant Professor of Classics and General Studies, pending funding, beginning August 2010. Candidates should have the Ph.D. in hand by July 2010; qualified ABDs will also be considered. Georgetown College places emphasis on teaching excellence. The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester, including first and second year Latin, occasional Greek, literature and culture courses in translation (e.g. mythology, honors seminars), and a regular contribution to the College’s freshman foundation curriculum. Service to the community, profession, college and department is expected, including student advising.
