Edward B. Smith, Associate Professor of Theatre
B.A., Georgetown College; M.A., University of North Carolina ; Ph.D., University of Texas
Dr. Smith has numerous research and performance interests that include adapting and staging fiction, digital cinema, writing for the stage and screen, exploring the role of performance in contemporary culture and staging science fiction and fantasy. He has directed and performed in numerous world premier performances, and currently performs as famed basketball coach Adolf Rupp for the Kentucky Humanities Council's Chautauqua program. In addition to being faculty adviser to the swing dance, fencing and film clubs, Dr. Smith serves as director of KESDA, the Kentucky Educational Speech and Drama Association, Inc.
