The Brokmeyer Society
The department invites all students to participate in its student organization, the Brokmeyer Society.
The group is named for Henry Brokmeyer, a Georgetown College student of
the 19th-century who went on to become Lieutenant Governor of Missouri.
Brokmeyer was a founding member of the first philosophical society and
the first philosophical journal in North America.
In movie nights, informal discussions, guest speakers, and cookout get-togethers the philosophy faculty and students enjoy visiting in a relaxed atmosphere.
