Duane began working for ITS in 2005 as server manager, after retiring from the U.S. Air Force as a Communication and Computer Officer (Captain, 10 yr), and one of the Air Force's top enlisted Russian Linguists (Master Sergeant, 13 yr). He taught intermediate and advanced Russian topics as an NSA National Cryptologic School adjunct, then National Security Studies at UK as an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies.

He was the USAF's primary SCORM specialist and technical lead for computer- and web-based training at the Institute of Advanced Distributed Learning, and the lead programmer turned project manager of the nation's primary nuclear command and control EAM (Emergency Action Message) system for the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

When not engaged in IT or teaching, he enjoys golfing, cooking, zymurgy, travel, spending time with friends and family, and motorcycle riding through the rolling hills of the Bluegrass and parts beyond.
