Welcome! We want to thank you for being a local
partner and an important part of our Georgetown LBD
faculty. We believe that the experiences our
candidates receive in schools are a vital part of
their preparation as caring and competent educators,
committed to a spirit of service and learning.
Please review the Georgetown Teacher Education
Conceptual Framework for our expectations of all of
our candidates.
We work with local LBD teachers for supervised
practicum experiences in three different courses:
- ECE 575A – a 3-hr course that
candidates take at the beginning of coursework,
where they complete 60 hours in the field, with
15 hours of practicum supervision. This course
must be completed before a candidate can begin KTIP in an LBD
setting.
- ECE 575B – a 3 hr course that is a
continuation of ECE 575A with another 60 hours
in the field and 15 hours of practicum
supervision. If a candidate has passed both LBD
Praxis tests, s/he may begin or complete one
semester of KTIP during this course.
- ECE 576 – a 6–hr course that candidates take
at the end of their program, where they complete
240 hours in the field, with 30 hours of
practicum supervision. Candidates must complete
ECE 575A-B and other specific courses prior to
ECE 576. If a candidate has passed both LBD
Praxis tests, s/he may begin or complete one semester of KTIP during this course.
