The Master

Program consists of 12 hours of core professional
education courses and 21 hours that are specific to
the specialty area, for a total of 33 hours. The
12-hour core includes an initial reflective course,
a technology/inquiry course, and two research
courses that are taken by all advanced Master of
Arts in Education candidates. Specialty courses
include advanced literacy methods and nine hours of
clinical practice (6 hours in a clinical setting
working with P-12 students, and 3 hours in a school
setting working with other educators), as well as
courses in school literacy policy, writing
