The goal of the Georgetown College Teacher Education Program is to develop scholars who are competent and caring educators committed to a spirit of service and learning. To realize this goal, learning experiences center around three knowledge domains: Critical Competencies, Ethical Values, and Reflective Practice.

Our courses are taught by full-time faculty of the College and by quality adjunct faculty with specialized experience. A variety of classroom approaches, online courses, fieldwork, and independent projects are integral components.

The following Regular MA Graduate Education Programs are offered:

  • Master of Arts Degree in Education (for Elementary, Middle Secondary and K-12 teachers)
  • Master of Arts with Reading and Writing Endorsement

You may also add an endorsement to your regular MA program

  • Endorsement for English as Second Language
  • Endorsement as Teacher for Gifted Education
  • Endorsement for Instructional Technology

The Application Process

For most applicants, an admission decision can be made with an application, an official college transcript, a signed Code of Ethics, PRAXIS scores (for those already certified), and a completed Program Entry Evaluation. M.A. applicants with a college GPA of less than 2.7, must also submit GRE scores.
