Dr. Carter is a widely-published writer of short
fiction, having published his work in literary
magazines such as Antioch Review, Tin House,
Northwest Review, Mississippi Review and others. His first novel, I Was Howard Hughes,
will be published by Bloomsbury Press in September
2003. His second novel, Famous Writers
School, will be published by Counterpoint Press
in October 2006.
