When you are finished with your peer review make a copy of your work. Give the original to the person whose paper you reviewed. Hand in the copy with your final draft. Read the paper slowly and carefully. In the margins of the essay write at least 4 sentence-long comments documenting your reactions to what you read.
Respond to the following questions in at least the number of sentences indicated.
1 -- What do you find to be the most obvious strength of this paper? Explain. (4 sentences)
2 & 3-- What is the topic of the paper? What argument does the paper make about its topic. Identify and evaluate the author’s thesis. (4 Sentences)
4 -- What do you think about the paper’s introduction? (Does it give you all the information you need to understand the author’s intentions? Does it make you interested in the topic?) (3 sentences)
5 – What do you think of the order in which the paper presents its points? What material do you think would be effective in another part of the essay? Why? (3 sentences)
6 – Where, in your opinion, should the writer include more information? Why? (4-5 sentences)
7 – In what parts of the paper do you have trouble following the author’s point? Why? (4-5 sentences)
8 – Explain any reactions to or suggestions for the paper not covered by the questions above. (3-4 sentences)
11 – Is the paper properly formatted? Point out errors.
12 – Does the paper contain grammatical, mechanical or spelling errors? Point out any that you recognize.
