Bibliography: Milton
There are 145 entries in the Georgetown College library NOTIS system under the subject of John Milton; there are 801 entries in the University of Kentucky system. You can't tell me that there isn't material available for some good papers on the topic.
Milton, John. The Works of John Milton. New York, Columbia University Press, 1931-38. Call number: PR 3550 .F31 This is the complete 18-volume edition of Milton's works, including all of De Doctrina Christiana
Significant Critical Studies
The Cambridge Companion to Milton ( PR 3588 .C27 1999 ) contains a series of essays that can give you some good ideas for paper topics. What helps even more is that the volume has a reading list at the end of each chapter, pointing you to significant articles and books that could help you develop your topic.
Our library holdings on Paradise Lost will be at PR 3562, and I suggest you browse the shelves for ideas. Several of the key critical texts will be on reserve..
Your book has extensive bibliographies for each major work and bibliographies for groups of minor works. Since this is a very new edition, the bibliography is surprisingly up-to-date. It is not, however, exhaustive.
For your paper, be sure to search the MLA database for articles and books on your topic. If you have any trouble in accessing the MLA, be sure to contact me as soon as possible after you experience the difficulty. If you have never used the MLA bibliography before, please let me know.
