Inclement Weather Plan
In
the event of inclement weather,
Commencement will be held in Alumni
Gymnasium
(loc. no. - 4), and line-up will be in
the Recreation Center (loc. no. -
3). We ask that you please not visit
your graduate once they have entered the
Recreation Center.
Each graduate will receive four complimentary tickets to be used as admission to the gym for family and/or friends. Please understand that seats are limited due to fire code guidelines. It is important that you arrive on time; once the Commencement ceremony has begun no one else will be permitted in the gym. Also, you will not be admitted without a ticket. Tickets will be distributed to the graduates at the Commencement rehearsal, Friday, May 09. Anyone with a valid G-Card may pick up extra tickets at campus safety after 8:00 am on the morning of Commencement.
Additional Seating (no ticket required) for those wishing to view the Commencement ceremony will be available on a first come, first served basis in both John L. Hill Chapel (loc. no. - 7) and the Cralle Student Center Cafeteria (loc. no. - 6). A large screen TV and speakers will provide the video and audio for the Commencement program.
By 7:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, a decision regarding the location of the Commencement ceremony will be made by the Provost/Dean of the College. This decision will be sent to all campus phones. Students may access their dorm phone to retrieve this message or may call the Campus Safety Office at (502)863-8111. Parents may call the Campus Safety Office or check this website.
We highly recommend that you and your graduate pick a place to meet each other after graduation. This place should be away from the Recreation Center and Alumni Gym because of congestion. Possible locations might include the Grille in the Cralle Student Center (loc. no. - 6) or the Ensor Learning Resource Center (loc. no. - 28).
