Inclement Weather Plan

Photo: Graduation CeremonyIn the event of inclement weather, Commencement will be held in Davis-Reid Alumni Gymnasium (#5), and line-up will be in the George H.W. Bush Center for Fitness (#6). We ask that you please not visit your graduate once they have entered the recreation center.

Each graduate will receive four complimentary tickets to be used as admission to the gym for family and/or friends. Please understand that seats are limited due to fire code guidelines. It is important that you arrive on time; once the Commencement ceremony has begun no one else will be permitted in the gym. Also, you will not be admitted without a ticket. Tickets will be distributed to the graduates at the Commencement rehearsal on Friday. Anyone with a valid G-Card may pick up extra tickets, if available after initial distribution, at campus safety after 8:00 am on the morning of Commencement.

Additional Seating (no ticket required) for those wishing to view the Commencement ceremony will be available on a first come, first served basis in both John L. Hill Chapel (#10) and the Cralle Student Center Cafeteria (#4). A large screen TV and speakers will provide the video and audio for the Commencement program.

By 7:30 a.m. on the morning of commencement a decision regarding the location of the Commencement ceremony will be made by the Provost/Dean of the College. Students and parents may call the Campus Safety Office at 502-863-8111 or check this website to find out where commencement will be held.

We highly recommend that you and your graduate pick a place to meet each other after graduation. This place should be away from the George H. W. Bush Center for Fitness and Alumni Gym because of congestion. Possible locations might include the Grille in the Cralle Student Center or the Ensor Learning Resource Center.
