Caitlan Adkins (2007) graduated from Georgetown after three years in order to pursue a degree at Oxford University. She is presently studying at Regent's Park College, where she is finishing her first year of an accelerated two-year program, culminating in the reception of a second Bachelors of Arts in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. This summer, she plans to split her time between travel in Europe and work on her thesis, which explores the economic relationship between the US and China concerning China's joining the WTO and intellectual property rights. In October 2007, Caitlan will return to Oxford to complete her second year of education, as well as her final exams.

Nikki Ehlen Boehmker (2004) I am an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Cincinnati, OH and I received my CPA in 2006.  I got married in 2006 and live with my husband in Crescent Springs, Kentucky.

Farrah Dicken Breslin (2004) I am working full-time as a Resident Director in UK's Office of Residence Life.  I married Jim Breslin in August 2004, and he also works at UK as the Assistant Director of Academic Enhancement in the division of Undergraduate Education.  We are both pursuing masters degrees in Higher Education.  I have been living on one college campus or another since I moved into Knight Hall as a freshman and I am still enjoying it!

Rachel Brewer (2006) will graduate on May 10, 2008 from the University of Missouri St. Louis with a Masters Degree in History, with an emphasis in Museum Studies. She currently works at the Mercantile Library with the art curator and is doing collections management for the Payne-Gentry Historic House.  Rachel hopes to be a little closer to home after graduation. 

Charles Casey (2006) is currently enrolled in the UK Electrical Engineering graduate program. As a research assistant in the image processing group, he has worked on the development of structured-light 3D data acquisition, including animation and single frame capture. His most recent program involves object tracking with template matching techniques, including applications of the recently developed Super Image Vector Inner Product method.  Charles will complete his Masters degree in spring 2008 and has been accepted into the Ph.D. program.

Jason Colliver (2007) will complete his degree in Communication and Media Studies and Art in Fall 2007 at Georgetown. While he plans to initially enter the job market post-graduation, one day, he would like to attend art school. He will be marrying Naomi Trahan in January of 2008.

Justin Craft (2005) Justin graduated Georgetown College in May 2005 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in two majors: Mathematics and Economics.  Upon graduation, he started employment with the Pharmacy Strategy and Analytics team at Humana Inc.  Justin currently lives in Louisville, and works from a home-based office for National Medical Health Card Systems (NMHC).  He continues to provide analytical support to the senior management of NMHC. 

Nikki Crawford (2006) has finished her first year as a graduate student at the University of Louisville. She plans to one day obtain her Ph.D. in Mathematics and then wishes to teach at a liberal arts college. This summer, she is staying busy between taking classes, teaching classes, and tutoring on the side.

Shawn Doyle (2007) is working in Lexington, KY, as a full-time QA Specialist, testing software for Exstream Software, the company where he interned during his last semester of undergraduate work at Georgetown. He shares an apartment with another Brown Scholar alum (Benjamin Hall, Class of 2006).

Tony Fluty (2007) was inducted into the Brown Scholars program at Georgetown as a freshman, but later transferred institutions and attended the University of Kentucky from spring 2004 to present, where he recently graduated with a B.A. in Psychology. He plans to
spend a few years as a social worker before attending graduate school to obtain a Masters Degree in counseling psychology.

Benjamin Hall (2006) is presently pursuing his M.A. in Statistics at the University of Kentucky while living in Lexington. He is spending the summer interning with Mercer Human Resource Consulting in their Retirement Service Center.

Courtney Carter Joyner (2003) is serving as pastor of Macedonia United Methodist Church in Louisa, Virginia.  After graduating from Georgetown, Courtney entered the Candler School of Theology at Emory University.  While at Candler, she met her husband, Jim; they married in the summer of 2005.  They both graduated from Candler in 2007 with Master of Divinity degrees.  Courtney is now a Provisional Elder in the Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and hopes to become ordained in the next couple of years.  Courtney and Jim have two dogs, Daytona and Scout. 

Kelly Kays (2007) is completing her first year of medical school at the University of Louisville.  This summer (2008) she will be traveling to Lahaul, India with an organization called Himalayan Health Exchange to provide free medical care for several villages located in the Himalayan mountains.  HHE partners with physicians and students from all over the world to embark on the expeditions and bring clinics to some of the most remote regions of the globe.

Jarrod Lopez (2006) Jarrod graduated in May 2006 with a B.A. in Philosophy and Religion.  Since graduation, Jarrod has found work in a multitude of settings, including Insight Cable, Eastern State Hospital, Measured Progress (a scoring center for educational assessments), and even the Yale Divinity School Library where he also briefly studied philosophical theology.  Inevitably and ironically, however, Jarrod’s meandering path brought him back to Georgetown College to serve in the capacity of Administrative Coordinator in the Graves Center for Calling & Career.  Now he spends his days helping others stumble across/plan their own vocational paths and co-organizing the upcoming Smiley-Lopez wedding. 

Jennifer Cooper Madison (2004) After graduating Georgetown, Jennifer began graduate school at the University of Kentucky.  She obtained a Master's in Diplomacy & International Commerce from the Patterson School, and a Master's in Business Administration from the Gatton College of Business.  Following graduate school, she began working for the Government Accountability Office as an Analyst looking at Department of Defense related issues.  At the turn of 2008, she married Georgetown alum David Madison ('03).  She and her new husband now reside in Atlanta, Georgia.

Laura Mays (2003) I graduated from Georgetown College in May 2003 with a degree in biology.  I began law school at UK in August of 2003 and graduated with a juris doctor in May 2006.  I am currently practicing law as a litigation attorney with the firm of Stites & Harbison, PLLC in Lexington.  I hope to continue to receive information regarding the Brown's Scholars program.  I am so thankful that I was chosen to participate during my time at Georgetown.

Bethany Meier (2006)
is currently taking online classes through the Art Institute Online, where she is working towards a second Bachelor’s in Media Arts and Animation. Her ultimate goal is to become a computer animator. While attending school, she works part-time doing graphic design work for companies such as Color Me Mine and the Baker-Hunt Art and Cultural Center.

Kyle Potter (2003) took a B.A. in History, and spent a year as a church intern in Dallas, then a year as a library technician in the Ensor LRC.  He then spent two years earning the degree Master of Applied Theology at Regent's Park College, University of Oxford, producing a thesis on hospitality and Christian proclamation.  Kyle works in mission and spiritual formation with the community of Saint Patrick's Anglican Church in Lexington, and was recently hired to serve in research instruction and cataloging as a library technician at the Ensor LRC at Georgetown College.

Martin Rains (2003) I finished medical school at UK in 2007 and starting residency here in a combined program of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. In Sept '07 I married Allison Carter (WKU grad '03), who I met in medical school and is in her first year of residency in Emergency Medicine at UK.

Alexandria Smiley (2007) will receive her M.A. in English Literature from the University of Kentucky in December 2008.  She continues to have a passion for reading and writing (though not teaching) and is content to explore her career options while listening for God’s call on her life.  She is currently freelancing for Kentucky Monthly and working at Georgetown College in Institutional Advancement.  Alex credits the Brown Foundation with introducing her to the joys of international travel, as well as to her fiancé, Jarrod Lopez, with whom she is planning a January 3, 2009 wedding.
